2025 Branding, Environmental Design

The United Club Fly at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) Terminal B is a new kind of premium lounge experience designed for speed, convenience, and modern travel habits. Unlike traditional lounges, United Club Fly caters to travelers on the move—offering a streamlined, grab-and-go format with elevated amenities, curated food and beverage options, and a refined spatial design. It reimagines the airport lounge as an efficient yet high-quality touchpoint, aligning with the pace of contemporary air travel while maintaining the brand’s premium identity.

As a graphic designer with Rottet Studio, my role focused on creating a dynamic exterior art installation sequence that activates the façade of the space. During the process I developed a 60–90 second looping visual narrative designed to feel continuous, engaging, and legible from multiple vantage points within the terminal. The work required careful attention to timing, rhythm, and composition at architectural scale, ensuring the sequence could both capture attention in passing and reward longer viewing, while integrating seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

The sequence draws from the visual language of air marshal hand signals—gestures used to guide aircraft safely and efficiently on the ground. I abstracted these movements into a system of bold, directional graphics, translating their clarity and intent into a rhythmic visual progression. Through repetition, pacing, and simplified forms, the installation echoes the choreography of aviation operations, creating a subtle but meaningful connection between the graphics and the lived experience of the airport.
